Free School Meals
Since September 2014 all children in Years R, 1 and 2 have been entitled to 'Universal Free School Meals' regardless of your eligibility.
However, in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 free school meals are available only to children whose parents/guardians are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Jobseeker's Allowance (income-based)
- Employment & Support Allowance (income-related)
- The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you are NOT entitled to Working Tax Credit and your family’s annual income is not more than £16,190
- Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’
If your child is in Foundation Stage, Year 1 or Year 2 please do still apply for Free School Meals if you are eligible, even though your child receives a free lunch under Universal Free School Meals - we can receive extra funding per child that is registered! Your child does not need to eat a hot lunch at school if they would prefer to bring a packed lunch, but it is important that you register if eligible.
